The music ministry of Joy Lutheran is open to all who wish to share their gifts of music and hospitality; these gifts of hospitality include ushering, greeting, communion assistants, readers, and sound technicians.  Musical gifts can be shared by participation in one of our ensembles or by serving as cantor, pianist, or instrumentalist in worship.  Childcare is provided for all of our rehearsals.  Please feel free to contact the church office by phone, 303-841-3739, or by email at Office@joylutheran-parker.org with any questions you may have about this ministry and serving it.

Ensembles

Voices of Joy

This adult choir sings everything from Bach to Rock!   They rehearse on Thursdays from 7:00-8:30 PM.  New members are always welcome.

 Spirit

Spirit is a junior high level vocal ensemble.  They meet on Sunday mornings from 9 to 9:30 a.m. during ‘choir season.’

 SonLight

The SonLight choir is for 4th through 6th grade children.  The Sonlight Choir meets on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. during ‘choir season.’

 Hosanna

The Hosanna choir is for children, 1st through 3rd grades.  Hosanna meets on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. during ’choir season.’

 Angel

The Angel choir is for children from age 3 through Kindergarten.  The Angel choir practices on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. during ’choir season.’

Handbells

        Ring for Joy

This is an adult handbell ensemble that plays at an intermediate level with ringers at various levels of experience.  Ring for Joy practices on Wednesday mornings from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.

 Gioioso Bell Choir

This is a beginning handbell ensemble for grades 3 through 7.  New ringers in this ensemble will need to be able to read music.   They rehearse on Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m.

 Polished Brass

This is an advanced handbell ensemble; they rehearse on Tuesdays from 5 to 6 p.m.

Instrumentals

Spirit Winds

This flute ensemble is under the direction of Brenda Reinicke.  Two years’ experience playing is needed for this group.

Pianists

There are many opportunities to use your keyboard skills including service playing and accompanying soloists or ensembles.  Contact the church office with your willingness to share your gifts.

Other Instrumentalists

Music at Joy often requires the use of other instruments in service.  Simply contact the church office with your willingness to share your gifts.  Guitarists and drummers are particularly needed.
