Joyful Mission Preschool has been in continuous operation at Joy Lutheran Church as an outreach ministry since 1979. MISSION
To serve God by instilling in each child a joy for learning through developmentally appropriate practice in a Christian environment that results in a love for God, self, and others.
PHILOSOPHY
We strive to provide a Christian atmosphere for children while incorporating an outstanding preschool experience. The preschool provides an integrated program combining Christian and securlar themes, units and experiences to help your child develop physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially, and spiritually. Parent involvement is always encouraged.
CURRICULUM
The curriculum is designed to provide a balance between developmentally appropriate practice and academic readiness skills. The children are given a variety of experiences in making choices, problem solving, role playing, and environmental exploration. These are completed through a wide range of activities including: music and movement, arts and crafts, learning centers, and free play. Our Preschooler's
curriculum is theme based in which stories are integrated throughout the month. Our Pre-Kindergarten curriculum is called DLM Early Childhood Express and was purchased from McGraw Hill. The curriculum is literacy based around a theme. Each unit is designed to provide children with the most appropriate and effective educational experience.
PRESCHOOL PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Parent Advisory Committee is composed of Joy members and non-members. The team provides direction to the preschool and recommendations to the church council. If you are interested in serving on the Preschool
Parent Advisory Committee, please contact the Preschool Director.
