Volunteer Opportunities

Youth Ministry Opportunity

All adult congregation members are invited to participate in the Confirmation Lent Mentoring Program. Name one person who had a significant impact on your faith journey. That person was gifted and called by God to be part of your life and share his or her faith with you. In the same way, the spirit is moving at Joy to call forth mentors for our confirmation youth during Lent. As a mentor, you will spend 45 minutes on a Wednesday night sitting with a young person, listening to them and sharing some of your own faith stories. You will have a talk sheet to guide you through your time. A mentor is someone willing to e Authentic, Affirming and Available. If that sounds like you, please sign up on the Family Bulletin Board in Fellowship Hall. There will be five meetings during Lent (March 16-April 13) on Wednesday evenings after soup supper from 6:15 p.m. to 6:55 p.m. and then join in Lenten Worship at 7:00 p.m. If you have questions or are interested in participating, please let Pastor Lyn or Jeanne Maloney know or contact Mattie Brothers.

 Evangelism Committee Needs your Help

Don’t be afraid of the word “evangelism” -   it simply means sharing God’s love with people around us.  As we seek to strengthen Joy’s ministry in Parker, we need to find ways to do that sharing in more effective ways.  If you have a passion and commitment to this area of Joy’s congregational life, volunteer to serve on the Evangelism Committee by contacting Pastor Lyn.
