Do as you are designed!

Did you know that your DNA is unique to you? There has been no one in the history of the world that has ever had your DNA, even if you are a twin! There will be no one after you who will have your exact DNA! This is just another case of God’s creation displaying how wonderful God makes each one of us.

This uniqueness goes beyond our genetics, however. Each one of us has a unique emotional, mental, and spiritual make up as well. We all have personalities, abilities, experiences and passions that make up who we are and how we express ourselves. Each one of us can find delight in doing as we are designed by God. Finding our unique spiritual gifts is a great aid in this.

At Joy Lutheran Church this year we are implementing a new (for us) approach to our annual time and talent survey for church ministry. Rather than start with a list of areas to serve and have people just check off what they think might be interesting to them, we are encouraging everyone to take the spiritual gifts inventory that is offered on line at the ELCA web site. Starting May 2 and 3, the newly revised time and talent booklet will help you match your gift with how you can use it in service to the Lord at Joy Lutheran Church!
