Outreach Activities

Community Outreach

Inspired by the Biblical story of the Good Samaritan, Joy’s outreach in the community is accomplished throughout the year through support of various community projects:

  • Parker Task Force

  • Habitat for Humanity (HFH)

  • Lutheran Family Services (LFS)

  • Joshua Station

  • Caring Association for Native Americans (CANA)

  • Praying Hands Ranch

  • Harrison Street School

  • Adopt-a-Trail

  • ELCA World Hunger

To learn how you can become involved, contact Pastor Lyn.

Women's Crisis Center:

Women's Crisis Center focus item for February are grocery store gift cards as the center experienced a flood on the lower floors over the holidays and lost most of their stored food stuffs.  Gift cards for food at local grocery stores in any amount will be most apprreciated.  Please drop off in the office.

Adopt-a-Trail:

Joy adopted a section of the Cherry Creek Trail in May of 2010 and members faithfully pick up trash along the trail one each month.  Some start at the Triple Bar C Park and walk north, others start at the Parker Recreation Center and head south.  We meet in the middle, then we're done in about 1 1/2 hours. Next Work Date: TBA

Joy Food Club Program

Joy Food Club will be selling reloadable cards from King Soopers.  Joy Lutheran will receive 5% from every card purchased/reloaded which will help support the Worship and Music Ministries.

Here are important details:

  • Cards are ready to use and pre- loaded with $25.

  • They can be reloaded in the store at the Customer Service desk BEFORE shopping or at the register BEFORE your groceries are scanned by using a debit or credit card, check, or cash up to a maximum of $500 per reload.

  • The card remains activated as long as money remains on the card.  If you have a zero balance for 90 days, it is automatically inactivated.  The balance on the card will not decrease over time.

  • Card balances can be obtained from the cash register receipt or by the cashier in the store.  There is also a website and 800 number listed on the back of the card to check balances.

  • Reloadable cards will come with an identifying sticker on the upper left corner.

  • Protect your card.  King Soopers will not issue a reimbursement for any card that is lost or stolen.

  • If your card becomes demagnetized and cannot be reloaded, replacement cards must be purchased from Joy Food Club; not at the store.

  • Cards can be used at all Kroger affiliated stores in the US (King Soopers, City Market, King Sooper gas pumps, etc.) Check back of card for listings.

Thank you for supporting Joy Food Club!
