Congregational Caring
Prayer Chain
The prayer chain is notified any time that the pastors or the church office is aware of a need or a reason for concern or thanksgiving, such as an illness or death, a birth or a change of location, etc. Members are notified through email or by telephone. Please call the office with any request or submit requests online for prayer and if you feel called to do so, add your name to the list of prayer partners.
Shepherd Groups
All members of Joy are associated with a neighborhood shepherd group. These groups provide support for each other during difficult times and in times of celebration (baby). On rare occasion the groups are used as a telephone tree in getting important information out to the membership quickly.
Compassionate Visitors
This is a specially trained group of individuals who provide pastoral care services to the membership when called upon. There ministry enhances and aids the pastors in care of the congregation. These members act as advocates to the wider community in various areas of need which include grieving resources, community disaster preparedness, issues of elder abuse, DVD ministry to military and shut-ins; etc.
